Grey Crowned Babbler's at Jarowair 21/05/12

Monday Afternoon I spotted a family of Grey-Crowned Babbler's at Out Patch.  This is only the second time we have had them on our property.  The previous time I saw one was when our house was being built and one flew into the window stunning itself, it recovered and flew off.  They are often seen about 1km away from our patch but never closer, so it was exciting that they decided to visit our little patch.  J.G.

  1. You are so lucky to have these characters visit you! Nice pics too. I have yet to get a decent shot, they just won't sit still!

  2. Thanks John, they are lovely birds. Yes they are hard to photograph as they jump around all the time, and as soon as I got close they took off up into the tree and were even harder to photograph! Although they are apparently listed as not often seen on the Downs, we would see them most days in the same place (abt 1km away) and they have nested their regularly over the last 7 years since we have lived in the area. I should try to get some better photos!
